Job Summary
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Director, Pupil Services, with input from the site administrator, and under the direct supervision of a credentialed school nurse, provides specialized, individualized nursing care services to students in a school setting. “Direct supervision” shall be defined as the LVN having received skilled training from the school nurse or physician, working within the scope of practice of the LVN as determined by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT), and not operating as an independent practitioner; the school nurse need not be physically present to provide direct supervision to the LVN, providing that the LVN refers to, and consults with, the school nurse for any health issue that is outside the scope of practice.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: • Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by college-level course work in nursing, health care or a related field and two years of health care experience. Licenses and other Requirements • Valid California Class C driver's license. • Valid First Aid/CPR certificate • Valid licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
