GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under direction of the principal, this individual serves as a day to day certificated substitute working in a classroom in the absence of the regular teacher and provides appropriate instruction using current methods of instructional delivery; implements a classroom management program; works with young people of diverse intellectual and cultural backgrounds; demonstrate an ability to provide an educational program for students that leads to each student’s optimum physical, intellectual, social and emotional growth; provides an environment of instruction and assessment that leads to growth for all students. Basic knowledge of teaching methods; general technical and professional knowledge of learning styles; behavioral characteristics and methods of communication with and instructing students. Knowledge of the interdisciplinary team process.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Possession of a valid California credential that authorizes teaching.
EXPERIENCE: Classroom teaching experience is desirable.
ABILITIES: Demonstrates ability to work with students, teachers, administrators, and parents; communicates easily and effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to deal effectively and easily with students; good organizational skills.
