A small, private special education school is interviewing SCIAs (Special Circumstance Instructional Assistants)/1:1 Aides to fill position(s) for the 2022-2023 school year. We are seeking dynamic, creative individuals who can work effectively with our diverse group of students. Please refer to our website, www.aseltine.org, for more details about our school. The applicant: 1. Who has a Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) is preferred. 2. Who has previous working experience with students in special education with emotional disturbances is ideal. 3. Should clearly and effectively communicate; possess strong organizational and computer skills; and demonstrate effective interpersonal skills. 4. Should have a valid, CA driver’s license. 5. Who speaks Spanish is a plus. Job Responsibilities: Assist teacher in all aspects of classroom management and instruction. Assist in implementing approved goals, objectives and related lesson plans. Assist in responding to behavioral emergencies and in implementing approved behavioral programs. Assist in conducting scheduled activities. Assist students in all aspects of self-care. Maintain accurate data, per program requirements. Escort and monitor students as requested. Attend scheduled team and staff meetings as requested. Perform other related duties as assigned which may include transporting students on an as-needed basis. Hours for this position are: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:15; Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
