We are seeking a Japanese instructor for our TK-9th grade student body. We are a private Christian school that engages in project-based learning for all grades. Students should not only become familiar with the Japanese language in both oral and written form, but also be exposed to the culture and traditions of Japan. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications: * provide dynamic and engaging instruction to students * plan sequential, scaffolded lessons for scholars that will enhance their understanding of the Japanese language and culture * experience teaching Japanese to students of varying ages and skills * provide dynamic instruction that keeps students engaged in learning – ideally with movement, song and dance, or occupational therapy techniques * background in education, tutoring, or related field We anticipate that the position will teach 2-3 sections of Japanese per day. This is a part-time position, with an anticipated commitment of 25 hours/week.
