Position Summary
Peninsula Bridge is a college access and completion organization that supports underserved, highly motivated middle school, high school and college students with a comprehensive 12-year program model of academic and socio-emotional support. We believe that all of our students, if given equal access and opportunity, can reach their full potential and graduate from high school and four-year colleges.
The Site Director Position is the most critical link between Peninsula Bridges administrative office and the independent schools (IS) where the summer programs are hosted. Typically, the Site Director is a full-time faculty member of the independent school that hosts a Peninsula Bridge program and functions as the voice for student diversity, equity, and community outreach on his or her school campus. While engaged with activities associated with Peninsula Bridge, the Site Director reports to the Executive Director of the Peninsula Bridge Program and is expected to fulfill the responsibilities delineated below. At all other times, the Site Director adheres to the reporting structure at his or her school. In general, the Site Director manages all aspects of the Peninsula Bridge program at his or her site, including developing an annual budget, recruiting students, teachers, and teacher assistants, overseeing evaluation efforts, and managing and overseeing all pre and posttests, and surveys and creating a positive growth oriented culture for students, TAs, and teachers. Responsibilities:
• Develop annual site budget, In conjunction with Peninsula Bridge Executive Director and Independent School CFO,
• Act as general liaison between Peninsula Bridge, IS school head, and IS CFOs, as appropriate
• Contact prospective students and parents; and manage Orientation Day on site and develop relationships with students/parents, and maintain student roster information to Peninsula Bridge for the central database
• Implement the core curriculum in math, English language arts, computer science, and science
• Administer standardized pre- and post-assessments and surveys
• Recruit and hire master teachers for core curriculum
• Recruit and hire instructors for enrichment activities, as appropriate
• Recruit and hire teacher assistants (TAs) Convene master teachers, instructors, and TAs for two (2) or more days of orientation/training prior to summer session
• Be on-site and available during all five weeks of the summer session
• Supervise hired staff and ensure teachers have necessary materials and support
• Discipline students and staff, as appropriate and provide instructional coaching and performance evaluations
• Participate in self-evaluation with Executive Director
• Submit all required paperwork (waiver forms, graded assessments, etc.) by due dates
• Attend quarterly meetings with other Site Directors
• Maintain open door policy with current Bridge students and Bridge alumni
• Be a strong ambassador for Peninsula Bridge and participate in meetings/tours with donors, board, and community partners as needed
