Job Summary

Job Summary

The Director of Accounting and Finance is responsible for overseeing the organization’s accounting, payroll and procurement processes and managing the transition of new accounting systems. The Director of Accounting and Finance must also stay abreast of new developments in the financial space and demonstrate thought leadership by adjusting accounting activities accordingly. The Director of Accounting and Finance also oversees cost and general accounting, accounts receivable, and collections.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field required. • A minimum of three years of increasingly responsible experience in the areas of accounting or finance required. • California School Accounting Code Structure (SACS), the School Accounting Manual (CSAM), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). • Non-profit organization financial statement and tax return preparation. • State and federal program record-keeping rules and requirements. • Position control and best practices for budget preparation and monitoring in a K-12 school setting • Experience working within a charter or private school environment preferred.
