Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Special Education and Student Health, the Program Specialist will effectively support the development of individual educational programs and placement of students with special education needs from early intervention - eighth grade in the least restrictive environment. Observe, consult and assist general education teachers, education specialists, designated instructional service providers, and special day class/learning center teachers in providing individualized instruction to students in the least restrictive environment. Assist with program planning, coordinating curricular resources, developing and implementing curriculum in a variety of settings and evaluating the effectiveness of programs for students with special needs.

Requirements / Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of laws and regulations governing Special Education 3-5 years of experience working as a Special Education teacher in grades PreK-8th Knowledge of curriculum planning for different age and ability levels Experience working with SEIS Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, teachers, parents, and other staff members LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: California Credential authorizing services to Special Education Students California Driver's license Personal Transportation
