Job Summary
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Child Nutrition or other assigned administrator, plan, organize and manage the District’s food service menus. Assist the Director in managing the Department’s compliance with the California Department of Education and USDA laws, rules and regulations related to food service; develop, plan and create menus and recipes; oversee procurement protocols, recycling and compost management; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel. Manage and maintain applicable point of service software to ensure accuracy.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: associate’s degree in culinary arts, hospitality or related field and three years increasingly responsible experience including commercial or institutional large quantity food preparation, cooking and baking from scratch, menu planning, food procurement or similar experience and two years in a supervisory role. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Certification as a ServSafe instructor/proctor or manager Valid California driver’s license and a safe driving record Incumbent will be involved in field work which requires travel in personal or District vehicles to various sites
