The Custodian is responsible for cleaning and maintenance of buildings and campus to ensure an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, faculty/staff and visitors. This position requires excellent organizational skills and able to work independently without direct supervision. The incumbent will support a wide range of programs, projects, reports and other matters relating to curriculum, day-to-day operations admissions, special events, and public relations. Essential Job Functions Cleans facilities and/or grounds, classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment. Consults with administrative personnel for the purpose of planning, prioritizing and scheduling custodial activities and achieving maintenance objectives. Coordinates cleanings and maintenance for all fundraising events, and special promotional gatherings. Inspects facilities for the purpose of ensuring that the site is suitable for safe operations, maintained in an attractive and clean condition, identifying necessary repairs to facilities and/or equipment, etc. Maintains supplies and equipment (cleaning solutions, paper products, vacuums, mops, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of custodial items required to properly maintain facilities. Monitors students and staff in and around work areas (halls, lunch room, restrooms, grounds, etc.) for the purpose of preventing injuries and ensuring site safety. Participates in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions. Performs minor maintenance building repairs (electrical, plumbing, painting, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a safe and attractive building. Prepares written materials (supply requisitions, safety inspections, work orders, inventory records, time sheets, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or relating activities
