Requirements / Qualifications
The Baldwin Park Unified School District is seeking a Director of Student Services. Under the administrative direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Student Achievement or designee, the Director of Student Services provides specialized student support service that covers compliance with compulsory education laws, student admission and enrollment procedures, student discipline procedures, transfers to alternative programs, and school climate and safety. The Director of Student Services combines the knowledge and skills of counseling with knowledge of education and the law to resolve complicated situations involving school choice, student discipline, campus safety, and programs for high-risk youth. The Director of Student Services provides leadership and assists school administrators in developing a nurturing and positive school culture. He or she also collaborates with families, community members, and other agencies. The Director of Student Services models a personal code of ethics while developing professional leadership capacity. REQUIREMENTS: -Master’s degree with graduate study in areas of elementary and/or secondary education -Advanced coursework or training in school administrative services -California Administrative Services Credential covering TK through 12th grade -Seven (7) years of experience in education at the TK-12th grade level, three (3) of which must have been teaching experience -Additional experience in coordination, supervision, and/or administration -Experiences related to at-risk children, intervention and support, counseling services, and alternative programs -Driving is required. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License, have an acceptable driving record, and qualify for insurability.
