Job Description: The teacher will be familiar with both the Faculty and Parent handbooks of San Clemente Christian School and willing to support the policies, procedures, dress code, and spiritual guidelines contained within these handbooks. The teacher will prepare a general outline, unit plans and daily plans for the courses s/he teaches and will present these at the request of the evaluator and at the annual evaluation conference. In addition, the following documents must be available as needed. Grading and Record-Keeping: The teacher will maintain his/her record book to accurately reflect the attendance, tardiness, and academic progress of his/her students. An interpretive key to these records will be a part of the record book. The record book will be presented upon the request of the evaluator and at the annual evaluation conference. Discipline and Behavior Reinforcement System: One of the most important lessons that educators can impart is that of discipline. To help facilitate our ongoing effort to communicate behavior standards to students and to assist them in understanding and appreciating our school climate, we have instituted the Positive Behavior Support Program (PBS). The driving idea behind PBS is to identify and teach expected behaviors, minimize discipline problems and maximize learning and growth! PBS utilizes a systems approach, where appropriate behaviors are taught, monitored, and rewarded in all settings on campus. As a result, students understand that it comes down to choice and responsibility. Therefore, we as the support team, will not manage—but produce—life-long skills. Staff-Related Communication: If the teacher is going to change his/her schedule in any way for an event, field trip, or other, it is the teacher’s responsibility to alert impacted staff (i.e. enrichment teachers, parent volunteers, class buddies, etc.) as soon as possible of the change. Must hold a valid California Single Subject Credential in Math or a Supplementary Authorization in Math or equivalent certification from another state.
