Job Summary

The CUSD Expanded Learning Program SPARKS provides a safe and supportive environment where students receive academic support and access to engaging academic activities. Under the direction of the Expanded Learning District Coordinator and the site principal, the SPARKS Lead Tutor supervises the expanded learning program and ensures programmatic requirements are implemented as required during distance learning and while transitioning out of distance learning. Times may be flexible if the district implements distance learning or a hybrid model. SPARKS serve students in elementary and middle school students through the After School Education and Safety Program (ASES). Additional afterschool slots are available at William Moreno Junior High thanks to 21st Century Community Learning Center (21stCCLC) funds. High school programming is available through After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens (ASSETs)

Responsibilities: - Participate in professional development - Observe, coach, and deliver feedback to staff - Participate in site observations across the district - Hold daily staff prep meetings and skill checks before the start of the program - Supervise extended day academic tutors and enrichment supervisors - Cover/substitute for extended day academic tutors and enrichment supervisors when absent or late, as needed - Set up and supervise scan-in and scan out procedure on a daily basis - Communicate to program coordinator and office assistant program needs (i.e. equipment, materials staff, etc.) - Must have a working knowledge of video conference platforms (i.e. Skype, FaceTime, Google Meet, and/or Zoom) for training purposes. - Provide assistance and support to staff implementing distance learning lessons and activities Minimum Qualifications: - AA Degree of higher, or transcript showing 48 college/university credits - Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience working with school-age children in an academic and or enrichment program. - Must have a working knowledge of video conference platforms (i.e. Skype, FaceTime, Google Meet, and/or Zoom) for training purposes.
