Job Summary
The CUSD Expanded Learning Program SPARKS provides a safe and supportive environment where students receive academic support and access to engaging academic activities. Under the direction of the site principal and site coordinator, SPARKS Extended Day Academic Tutors and Enrichment Supervisors will assist students with academic work as well as plan and implement academic enrichment activities They must attend professional development and implement the ASSET Framework in both in-person and distance learning mode. To be placed at a school site, SPARKS staff MUST be available Monday-Friday for the duration of the program. Times may be flexible if the district implements distance learning or a hybrid model. SPARKS serve students in elementary and middle school students through the After School Education and Safety Program (ASES). Additional afterschool slots are available at William Moreno Junior High thanks to 21st Century Community Learning Center (21stCCLC) funds. High school programming is available through After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens (ASSETs)

Extended Day Academic Tutor II
An "Extended Day Academic Tutor II" is an individual who is NCLB compliant and possesses a B.A./B.S. or M.A./M.S. from any state or country.
An "Extended Day Academic Support Tutor II" is an individual who tutors in core subject areas, but does not hold a basic teaching credential.
Extended Day Academic Tutor Ill
An "Extended Day Academic Tutor III" is an individual who is NCLM compliant by one of the following methods:
1.- possess an A.A./A.S. from any state;
2.- 48-semester units in core subjects from an accredited college or university; or
3.- pass the - paraprofessional NCLB exam.
An "Extended Day Academic Support Tutor Ill" is an individual who tutors in core subject areas.
