FUNCTION:
Provide quality occupational therapy services under the supervision of an occupational therapist, registered
OTR).
SCOPE OF ROLE:
COTA practitioners advance along a continuum from entry to advanced level according to their experience, education, and practice skills. Development along the continuum depends on the development of competence in providing services. The OTR has the ultimate overall responsibility for providing services (AOTA, 1993).
QUALIFICATIONS: Certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board (AOTCB) as a COTA.
SUPERVISION: Require general supervision by an OTR. Level of supervision is dependent on competence and experience of COT A.
SOME KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Responds to request for services in accordance with service agency's policies and procedures
Assists OTR with data collection and assessments
Assists OTR with development of treatment goals
Implements intervention under supervision of OTR
Can adapt intervention environment, tools, and materials under supervision of OTR
Is part of collaborative health care team
Maintains treatment area, equipment, and supply inventory as needed
Maintains records and documentation required by work setting and under the supervision of OTR

**To establish an on call Substitute List for the 2022 - 2023 School Year.** **Will be called on a as needed basis to cover when permanent staff member is absent, and paid on a time sheet.** Only completely filled application will be considered.
