Friday, July 15, 2022, at 1:00 P.M., SHARP. Education Center, Board Room, 4850 Pedley Road, Jurupa Valley, CA 92509. THE TESTING WILL TAKE APPROXIMATELY ONE (1) HOUR TO COMPLETE. PLEASE BE PREPARED TO REMAIN IN THE TESTING ROOM FOR THE ENTIRE TEST PERIOD. THIS IS THE ONLY NOTICE OF THE TESTING.

Jurupa Unified School District REGISTRAR DEFINITION Under general supervision, to perform a variety of moderately difficult secretarial/clerical and record keeping duties to establish and maintain permanent school records of secondary school students, and to perform related work as assigned. This classification is distinguished as the primary individual responsible for permanent student records at a middle school or comprehensive high school. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Perform accurate record keeping duties related to the admission of students and the maintenance of permanent school records. • Communicate with district and out-of-district schools to obtain student records. • Maintain a variety of student records and files. • Post data and information to student transcripts, including, but not limited to: grades; grade changes; grade point average; credits; test scores; activities; athletics; attendance; health information; deficiencies; waivers; credits from off-campus courses and summer school. • Answer inquiries from District administrators, guidance coordinators or counselors, students, parents, teachers, other schools, employers, state officials, scholarship or award committees, or others authorized. • Provide information contained in permanent student records according to established procedures. • Assist with the Master Schedule. • Type correspondence, memos, records and forms. • Enter data on computer. • Make and receive telephone calls. • Make arithmetical calculations with speed and accuracy. • Operate standard office equipment. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Performs other related duties as may be assigned. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: Procedures related to student records; Basic methods, terminology and practices of record keeping; English grammar, vocabulary, and arithmetic; Office methods, procedures, terms and equipment; Basic computer operation. Personnel Services December 2006 REGISTRAR (continued) DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS (continued) Ability to: Follow oral and written instructions; Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; Perform detailed and general clerical work; Make arithmetical calculations with speed and accuracy; Work with a minimum of supervision; Remain flexible under the pressure of a heavy workload; Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; Read and comprehend handwritten or typed documents, and the display screen of office machines; Work on more than one task at a time; Concentrate on current task in spite of distractions in an active, busy environment; Efficiently and effectively operate office machines, including a computer with keyboard and monitor, for sustained periods of time; Sit for sustained periods of time; Demonstrate manual dexterity necessary to operate a calculator, typewriter, and/or computer keyboard at the required speed and accuracy; Maintain regular, steady attendance. Skills: Typing: 50 words per minute. Experience: Two years of experience in the preparation and maintenance of specialized records, including some clerical experience. Education: Equivalent to graduation from high school, preferably including or supplemented by courses in record keeping, bookkeeping, typing and office procedures.
