Job Summary
Job Summary
Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking analytical individuals with strong interpersonal skills to apply for the Head Start Program Development Assistant position. Under general supervision, the Head Start Program Development Assistant provides analytic, and technical, and program planning and development support to state or federal Head Start program functions. The incumbent also provides ongoing communications and outreach to the Head Start community and families.
Requirements / Qualifications
Required Education and Experience Education: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, psychology, sociology, communications, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the commission on Teacher Credentialing. Experience: Two years of experience compiling and analyzing program data, and preparing reports and recommendations regarding one of the following areas for one or more social services agencies: program planning and development; community assessment; student program recruitment, enrollment and eligibility; community outreach; or program compliance monitoring. Equivalency Provision: A master’s degree in business administration, public administration, psychology, sociology, communications or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation may substitute for the required experience for up to one year. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the commission on Teacher Credentialing. Additional Requirements: A valid California driver’s license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required. Remote, work-from-home, or hybrid work days may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE will require all employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
