Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: * A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other related business field is required. * At least three years of accounting experience including two years experience in a public school district accounting department preferred * Two (2) Letters of Reference. Minimum Knowledge of: * Principles and practices of the State Standardized Account Code Structure (SACS); * Principles and practices of accounting and program budgeting; as well as financial analysis and research methods; * Fundamental application of data processing to accounting; *Principles and practices of cost accounting and auditing; * Principles and Practices in budgeting; acceptable supervisory techniques. Skill and Ability to: * Analyze, compile and display data in graphs, charts, and tables; * Prepare clear and concise reports, manuals, and written instruction; * Analyze accounting and payroll operations and devise and recommend changes in operations, procedures and forms; * Supervise the work of assigned departmental staff; * Communicate orally and in writing with correct grammar, spelling and punctuation; * Work in a positive, cooperative mode with fellow workers, departments, and supervisor; * Maintain professional confidentiality. * Performs other duties as assigned.
