Job Summary

The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) is recruiting to fill a vacancy for a Graphic Arts Technician in the Media and Creative Services department of the Integrated Technology Services Division. Under general direction, the Graphic Arts Technician creates and designs various materials for print, multimedia, and web in support of the mission of the County Office, meets with clients to evaluate project requirements for multiple graphic design projects, and prepares final files for print, multimedia, and Internet use. This is a full-time position and will offer the classified support benefits package.

Requirements / Qualifications

The Graphic Arts Technician position requires knowledge of graphic design processes and common design software programs, such as Adobe Creative Suite and Illustrator, and an ability to adhere to SDCOE brand standards and meet set project deadlines. This position requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to: two (2) years of formal training or education in general graphic arts processes, with an emphasis on graphic design, and two (2) years work experience performing similar duties producing complex graphic designs for print, multimedia, and the web. Skill in visual arts, such as illustration, painting, photography or related craft is strongly preferred. Candidates will be asked later during the selection process to provide a portfolio of previous work encompassing a range of creative projects.
