Requirements / Qualifications

The job of Instructional Assistant – Speech/Language is to provide a method of supporting and/or reinforcing therapy objectives including assisting the Speech/Language Pathologist (SLP) in implementing therapy, evaluating student progress, developing and providing therapy materials, and supporting the SLP in maintaining student records and files.

1. Meet a rigorous standard of quality by meeting one of the following: -Two years of study at an institution of higher education - Obtained an associate’s degree (or higher); or - Through a formal local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness). If Unvaccinated, the employee is subject to weekly testing, as per OSHA guidelines.
