Education, Training and Experience: Option One: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in either Human Resources, Business Administration, Educational Administration, Public Administration, Psychology, Sociology, or Behavioral Sciences, or a related field; and Five (5) years of public sector human resources experience, including two (2) years of supervisory or management experience. Option Two: A master’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in either Human Resources, Business Administration, Educational Administration, Public Administration, Psychology, Sociology, or Behavioral Sciences, or a related field; and Three (3) years of public sector human resources experience, including one (1) year of supervisory or management experience. Equivalency Provision: For each of the above two options, work experience in a position in a public or private school district or public entity that generally involved some human resources knowledge or tasks (such as a district office or school administrator, executive assistant, school secretary, or other supervisor) may be substituted for the required experience on a two-year-to-one-year basis. and work experience on the Personnel Commission staff or as a Commissioner on a Personnel Commission in a California merit system school district may be substituted for the required experience on a year to year basis. Experience in a K-12 unified school district and/or a merit school district and serving in a diverse community is highly desirable. Ability to speak Spanish is highly desirable. Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements: A valid California Driver License. Proof of insurability. Use of private transportation. CSPCA Merit System Academy Certificate is desirable. School Action for Safety and Health (SASH) Certification is desirable.
