POSITION DETAILS The Fullerton School District is seeking qualified individuals for full and part-time Custodian I positions who will be responsible for performing routine and repetitive tasks related to the cleaning and caring of buildings, grounds, and furniture. Availability between the hours of 2:30pm and 11:00pm, Monday through Friday, is required. These 9.5-month positions include paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation. The District offers a comprehensive pro rated benefits package of health, dental, vision and life insurance for employees who are scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Experience: Six months of custodial or institutional housekeeping experience. Knowledge of: Methods, materials, and equipment used in cleaning of walls, floors, furniture and fixtures. Ability to: Read, speak and communicate in English at a level sufficient to understand and respond to oral instructions; use industrial cleaning materials and equipment in a safe and efficient manner; lift and carry heavy trash containers or boxes of supplies and materials; understand and follow a work schedule; read and understand written safety precautions and directions; climb ladders; work for long periods of time alone; perform repetitive tasks; maintain harmonious working relationships with school officials, staff, students and the general public; perform the duties of a rigorous work schedule that includes lifting, moving, loading or unloading heavy objects, including heavy trash containers and boxes of supplies and materials. Additional Requirement License: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver’s License.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURES This is a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test, performance test and/or structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future vacancies. Date of Examination(s) The date of the examination(s) will be announced at a later date. Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email, and/or telephone of the time, date and place of the examination(s).
