Job Summary

Job Summary

The Vice President, Employee Relations and Engagement lead the strategy and vision setting for two functional areas in the Talent Department: Employee Relations and Employee Engagement. The Vice President is a thoughtful culture creator and leader who leads the team to help make Alliance a top place to work. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Vice President, Employee Relations and Engagement sits on the Leadership Team of the Talent Department and advises the senior leaders of the organization on issues related to employee relations and engagement in order to ensure all Alliance staff feel a sense of belonging, can be productive and successful in achieving their professional and personal goals, and can positively contribute to Alliance’s mission.

Requirements / Qualifications

THE IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE/BE: - Strong interpersonal and consulting skills with the ability to build relationships with, influence, and coach leaders across all levels of the organization and hold them accountable to metrics; - Ability to work effectively in a multi-layered organization and build strong relationships with teachers, school leaders, and other home office and school-based staff; - Effective conflict resolution, facilitation, and consultation skills and skill in fact-finding, analysis, problem-solving, and consulting to identify problems and recommend solutions; - Excellent judgment, political sensitivity, and ability to maintain confidentiality and act collaboratively and discreetly; - Independent thinker that can provide strategic thought leadership; - Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills; - Understanding of urban school environments and school culture challenges; ability to link employee performance to scholar impact.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - At least 5 years of progressive professional work experience in a related field; - A Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS In alignment with our commitment to equity for our scholars, Alliance is committed to equity and transparency for our team and offers competitive salaries commensurate with experience as well as generous retirement and health benefits. This position is exempt Compensation: Alliance provides a competitive salary. Based on relevant prior work experience, our salary range for this role is $125,660-$164,800. Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision plan options that are covered at 100% of monthly premiums for individual employees and at least $1,000 per month towards family plan premiums. Retirement: Alliance Home Office employees are eligible for a retirement allowance equal to 7.5% of their regular yearly earnings. Paid Leave: Regular full-time 12-month employees accrue vacation at a rate of 10 hours/month for a maximum of 180 hours in addition to 10 national holidays as well as a week for Spring Break and a week for Winter Break. Professional Development: At Alliance, we believe in supporting staff growth and development. Home Office staff are allocated $500 per year for professional development expenses. WORK LOCATION This position will work virtually in the greater Los Angeles area, with travel to school sites once public health conditions allow. The successful candidate will be given a $400 work from home set-up allowance and receive a monthly stipend of $100. ** PLEASE NOTE: Alliance College-Ready Public Schools requires that all team members be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for the safety of our students, family, and staff.
