Job Summary
The Los Angeles County Office of Education is seeking experienced auditors with strong attention to detail, decision-making, and leadership abilities for the position of Principal Auditor. Under general direction, plans, organizes, conducts, and supervises financial, compliance, and operational audit staff and activities to assure compliance with rules and regulations, policies, procedures, and applicable law for local, state and/or federally funded programs and services provided by the Los Angeles County Office of Education.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institute of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Experience: Five years of experience conducting financial and/or compliance audits, including two years of lead audit experience. Equivalency Provision: A valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license may substitute for one year of the required experience. Additional Requirements: A valid California driver’s license and the availability of private transportation or ability to provide transportation between job sites is required. Remote, work-from-home, or hybrid work days may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE will require all employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
