Job Summary
Under the direction of the designated Manager, facilitate the computerized collection, management, manipulation, and distribution of data used for decision-making and in the daily operation of schools and departments; plan, design, develop, and maintain software systems applications and utilities; lead other programmer/analysts on major projects and serve as a technical resource to others.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Any combination of education and experience equivalent to: bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science or related field including or supplemented by courses in systems analysis and programming and four years of experience in software development, database development, and/or database administration. EXAMPLES OF EQUIVALENT WAYS TO MEET MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS An associate’s degree (or comparable coursework) in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and 6 years of work experience in software development, database development, and/or database administration. Graduation from high school supplemented by sufficient college-level coursework in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and 7 years of work experience in software development, database development, and/or database administration. Graduation from high school and 8 years of work experience in software development, database development, and/or database administration. Additional years of experience or education may be substituted to meet the minimum qualifications. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California Driver's License.
KNOWLEDGE OF: Conceptual design processes Software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and frameworks such as Bootstrap and JQuery Object Oriented Programming, C#, ASP.NET (Core/MVC/WebForms) Database administration and development (preferably MSSQL) Data Integration and Reporting (MSSQL SSRS, MSSQL SSIS, Excel) DevOps principles (source control, quality assurance, deployment) Legal responsibilities and restrictions as they apply to access control and privileges for security. Leadership principles and practices. ABILITY TO: Collaborate with peers and work in a team Effectively gather business requirements and assist users in determining their needs Perform systems analysis and design Lead major complex programming, database and software design and maintenance projects Design and implement full-stack applications Integrate data and services from a wide range of systems Design and perform test plans for software and systems Troubleshoot and solve problems quickly and accurately Learn and use new program languages and operating systems Train and provide work direction to assigned personnel. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Poway Unified School District offers an excellent benefits package for eligible employees who are contracted for 20 (twenty) or more hours per week.

Holidays – 16 paid holidays per year (based on 12 month employment contract)
Vacation – Starting at 12 days per year for 12 month employees, increasing with length of service
