About the Employer
Contra Costa SELPA membership includes the following sixteen Local Education Agencies (LEA) in Contra Costa County: Acalanes, Antioch, Brentwood, Byron, Canyon, Contra Costa County Office of Education, John Swett, Knightsen, Lafayette, Liberty, Martinez, Moraga, Oakley, Orinda, Pittsburg, and Walnut Creek. The members join together to adopt a Local Plan in accordance with California Education Code to assure access to special education and services for all individuals with exceptional needs residing in the geographic area served by these LEAs.

Opening: 1 (1.0 FTE) Start Date: July 1, 2025 (2025-2026) This is a full time job, but we will consider part-time applicants. The full time position allows for two days to be done from home. The AT and/or AAC Specialist (Assistive Technology/Augmentative or Alternative Communication Specialist) provides a wide range of assistance to the Local Educational Agencies (LEA’s) in the Contra Costa SELPA. This assistance includes but is not limited to: providing direct service to students; providing consulting services to students, their staff, or their families; assessing students for service; providing professional development to LEA staff; and the ordering of equipment. AT and/or AAC Specialists will train and support staff in the LEA’s proactively and as required through IEP’s.
