POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: American Sign Language Teacher SUPERVISED BY: Principal FLSA STATUS: Part-time (4/5) EFFECTIVE DATE: August 1, 2022 Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory (SHC) is a Lasallian Vincentian Catholic, co-educational college preparatory secondary school located in the heart of San Francisco, California. Position Summary This is a 5/5 (100% FTE) position, teaching various levels of ASL in our World Language department. Responsibilities and Duties ? Model for students the characteristics of Lasallian/Vincentian education; ? Support SHC’s mission, philosophy and integral student outcomes; ? Engage students in a global community by developing their expressive and receptive abilities to communicate in American Sign Language and by studying Deaf culture; ? In collaboration with World Language Department colleagues, and per department goals, guide students to ? Gain command of the structures of standards ASL grammar, usage, and mechanics when signing; ?
