We have an exciting opportunity for a Faculty Coordinator - Math UP position to serve our campuses district wide. This is a full-time, non-teaching, non-tenure, track position serving as the Coordinator of the Title V Math Undergraduate Preparation (UP) Program with a primary focus on developing, maintaining, expanding, and/or modifying the program that supports success online and face-to-face. Major duties include recruiting, hiring, and training of Embedded Tutors, identification and scheduling of appropriate courses, and general oversight of faculty outreach, data collection, reporting, and marketing. The primary duties of the Math UP Faculty Coordinator will require 1372 hours (equates to 196 service days) per academic year coordinating the activities of the Math UP Program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. A Master's degree in Mathematics, Math Education, and/or related Mathematics discipline (attach transcripts); OR 2. The equivalent; AND 3. Three (3) years of community college teaching experience; AND 4. One (1) year of demonstrated responsible program coordination experience; AND 5. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff ***Before scanning attachments, remove/redact sensitive, confidential information such as date of birth, social security number, address and photograph*** DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. Demonstrated commitment to community college models of faculty professional development within a collaborative environment 2. Demonstrated expertise in the theory and practice of the scholarship of teaching and learning including the implementation of high impact teaching practices, peer-led tutoring and mentoring, and academic support services, such as embedded tutoring 3. Experience working collaboratively with faculty, staff, administration, and students implementing programs 4. Experience as a faculty member in shared governance activities 5. Project management experience, preferably in a higher education setting, with a demonstrated ability to set goals, think critically, solve problems, and prioritize tasks and the workload to complete assignments in a timely manner. 6. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in culturally responsive and affirming pedagogy/support programs, such as MESA and/or PUENTE
