Job Summary

The San Diego Unified School District is seeking a Personnel Analyst to independently perform highly responsible professional human resource administration duties in the areas of recruitment, examination, selection, in-service training, counseling, and related staff services. The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service skills, the ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion, the ability to manage a high volume workload and multiple deadlines, and a creative thinker who engages management to anticipate and plan for future staffing needs.

POSITION AND BENEFITS: The position is represented by the Office-Technical and Business Services Bargaining Unit (OTBS) and is covered by the negotiated terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement. The District provides a generous compensation and benefits package, including CalPERS 2%@55 for classic members or 2%@62 for new members (CalPERS members after 1/1/13), Six choices of medical plans, including HMO and PPO options through United Healthcare or Kaiser Permanente, Three choices of dental plans, including HMO and PPO options, Vision Plan, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Basic and Supplemental Life Insurance, and Employee Assistance Program. The District pays the full cost of medical, dental, and vision care premiums for employees who work half time or more and their eligible dependents.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in human resources or public or business administration or graduate courses in these or other directly related fields and three (3) years of recent, progressively responsible, diversified, human resources experience; one year of which must have been performing professional-level duties related to recruitment, examination, and selection of staff in a public agency or large private firm. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid California driver's license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided). Possession of SHRM PHR, SPHR, or IPMA certification is desirable.
