Job Summary

Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent of Education Services supervise and directs the day-to-day operations of the District’s Student and Education Services division, serves on District committees as directed by the Superintendent, assists in the planning, development and implementation of Board Policies and Administrative Regulations, and is the main point of contact to all school sites/departments regarding student matters. The Assistant Superintendent of Education Services is charged with providing clear and effective leadership to ensure district goals, beliefs, and policies are clearly communicated and implemented; is accountable for improving student behavior outcomes through the lens of equity, restorative practices, inclusion, and working directly with the Superintendent to conceptualize, develop, research, and implement programs/services to meet the learning/behavioral needs of all students from Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade. Additionally, the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services is responsible to ensure all student programs meet state and federal guidelines.

Requirements / Qualifications

Master’s Degree or higher, or equivalent experience • Multiple/Single Subject Credential • California Administrative Services Credential • Minimum of 5 years teaching experience (TK-8th Preferred) • Minimum of 5 years of school/district level administrative experience. • Any combination of training, education and experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position. • Demonstrated record of managing large scale systems, program alignment and coherence.
