Job Summary
The Westminster School District is announcing the opening for the position of Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources. Under the general direction of the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources serves as the chief personnel administrator of the District, and is responsible for the operation of all Human Resources, including recruitment, interviewing and employment, certificated/classified negotiations, employee evaluation, and discipline, substitutes, student teachers and credential requirements. The Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources, also reports to the Personnel Commission, with operational direction from the District’s Superintendent, performs all procedures necessary to administer the District’s Classified Personnel system in accordance with California merit system law, the rules and regulations of the Personnel Commission and the policies of the Board of Trustees; serves as Secretary to the Personnel Commission; participates in the formulation of District policy as a member of the management team and Superintendent’s cabinet.

The District is seeking an experienced, creative, innovative professional with exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. We seek applicants who are able to contribute to a collaborative team environment, with outstanding interpersonal skills, a commitment to shared decision making, customer service, and positive morale. We also seek candidates with demonstrated experience in the selection and supervision of personnel, employee negotiations, and contract management as it pertains to both classified and certificated staff. A special appreciation and the ability to work positively with a diverse community is highly valued. Graduate of ACSA Personnel Academy and/or previous personnel experience desirable. A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in education, or a related field. Must possess a valid California Administrative Services Credential. Experience as a School Principal is highly preferred.
