Job Summary

Job Summary

The job of Student/Parent Advocate Program Specialist is done for the purpose/s of supporting the educational process by serving as a resource for students and parent involvement to promote student academic achievement; focusing on student social and emotional issues; working under direct supervision of a Guidance Learning Specialist or Assistant Principal/Vice Principal to accomplish various tasks such as attendance, grades, and behavior; and conducting a variety of parent education training modules.

SELECTION PROCESS: All applications will be screened to evaluate training/experience and to ensure applicant meets minimum qualifications. Applicants meeting the minimum requirements will be invited to participate in an oral exam. All candidates achieving a passing score of 70% or higher will be placed on an eligibility list and will receive departmental interviews as positions become vacant. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Community college and/or vocational school degree with study in job-related area. One year of experience working with students has been found to be a minimum requirement for successful job performance. Relevant experience, education, certificates and/or licenses may be substituted. **COPY OF COMMUNITY COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT and/or VOCATIONAL DEGREE MUST BE ATTACHED**
