Job Summary
Aspen Public Schools is seeking an experienced certificated music teacher to be responsible for teaching music as part of the school curriculum. Aspen’s music teacher will follow state standard guidelines as set by the CDE which includes the theory and practice of general music, singing and playing musical instruments. They will also assist the Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator with our Winter and Spring performances, as well as the end of the year Talent Shows. Aspen’s music teacher will create an enjoyable learning environment to inspire students and help them grow in appreciation of music, skilled in playing musical instruments, planning concerts for student participation, including designing after school music courses or clubs. Job Description: Plan and prepare lessons in relation to individual students' needs and examination syllabuses Teach music theory, aural skills and practical techniques to pupils entering and preparing pupils for examinations Acquire appropriate teaching materials and resources Create and maintain a network of contacts to ensure work continuity Communicate with academic staff and parents Assess pupils' abilities, providing feedback and writing report

Bachelor’s degree Certificate to teach music (CA state requirement). Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
