POSITION DESCRIPTION: REPROGRAPHICS TECHNICIAN
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Performs a variety of duplicating and bindery functions of printed materials for instructional and administrative purposes for all sites, departments, and student extracurricular programs; set up and operate copiers, duplicators, bindery and other equipment for the high volume, quality production of printed materials in a timely manner; perform related duties as assigned. Prepares various documents for electronic storage and inputs into the Districts electronic record retention system.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Production and reproduction of a wide variety of instructional and business support materials.
- Operates a variety of bindery and finishing equipment to collate, cut, fold, punch, drill, bind and pad printed materials, along with packaging product to deliver to sites and departments.
- Maintain daily records of work performed; prepare detailed reports of work performed for each site; prepare job cost reports for site/department for billing purposes.
- Handles, stores and uses chemicals, inks, solvents, and other hazardous materials and is responsible for adhering to OSHA regulations.
- Performs preventive and minor maintenance to reprographic equipment; arrange for equipment repairs with service technicians and vendors.
- Uses page layout, illustration, image editing and other software and equipment; works with District customers to develop materials to meet customer requirements; utilizes scanning and other equipment to import images for editing and full color digital output; receives and sends digital files from/to other District locations to achieve efficiency, productivity and quality objectives. Maintains digital files.
- Develop, implement, and provide on-going training of new software to reprographics employees and site/department personnel as necessary.
- Provides training to site/department staff in formatting a job to be print ready. Provide assistance and encourage District staff to submit jobs digitally.
- Receives, reviews, and logs work orders for accuracy of job details.
- Maintains collaborative communication with all sites and departments.
- Maintains inventory of production printing supplies and materials; orders supplies and materials.
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions and instructions, analyze and solve problem, learn and apply new information or skills. Work under intensive deadlines.
- Adheres to good housekeeping techniques to minimize tripping hazards and regularly reviews safety videos/materials to maintain a safe working environment.
- Scans, downloads, or uses other methods to electronically record documents and checks for quality control to ensure the accuracy and readability of all documents electronically retained.
- Assists the Purchasing Director to ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and business needs of record retention and document archiving schedules.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and prepares detailed documentation of records received, held, archived, and returned to appropriate sites and/or departments.
- On a regular and frequent interval provides the Purchasing Director with the detailed logs of all record/file movement and work in progress reports.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Methods, processes, equipment and operations for the purpose of producing, reproducing, and electronically filing all mater of printed materials.
- Operation and care of Reprographics equipment and software.
- Knowledge of various business software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and other photo and document editing software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift/pull/push a minimum of 50 pounds. Must exhibit full range of motion of spine and extremities.

LICENSE: Possession of a valid California driver’s license
TUBERCULOSIS TEST (TB): Must furnish certificate showing proof of being free from active tuberculosis.
FINGERPRINTING: Fingerprint clearance will be required and conviction records will be checked. Cost of fingerprinting is $69.00 (DOJ & FBI) and will be the responsibility of the appointee.
