Regional Assistant 

The Regional Assistant position is a classified, non-exempt position with Dimensions Collaborative School, which is operated by Element Education. The Regional Assistant reports to the School Director and the Administrative Specialist - Operations and is primarily responsible for assisting with the management of the learning center.  

  

Essential Functions  

Support Student Learning 

  1. Ensure high expectations for each student’s individual academic and social growth 

  1. Have knowledge of each student attending the learning center 

  1. Assist with preparation and organization for meetings, public events, parent workshops, tours, and informational meetings 

  1. Create flyers, letters, spreadsheets, etc. 

  1. Maintain filing systems and office organization; make copies and order supplies 

  1. Assist with classroom and playground management and supervision  

  1. Attend to injured/ill students; Call parents and complete necessary paperwork 

  1. Assist with the region’s yearbook pages 

  1. Substitute/Assist EFs and Instructors, as needed; Support students in class or virtually, as needed 

  1. Support Positive Discipline ™ and its’ practices and principles 

  1. Actively participate in school-wide teams 

  1. Ensure the safety of students including, but not limited to, assisting in conducting emergency drills and cleaning of workspace 

  

Accountability and General Administration 

  1. Maintain attendance and enrollment records for classes; maintain emergency student contact cards 

  1. Assist in developing and executing, with input from community and staff, school plans and procedures for safety, supervision, conduct, and discipline of students 

  1. Serve as a liaison to the landlord, if applicable, vendors, and the School Director 

  1. Coordinate daily maintenance and cleanliness of facility; Coordinate and maintain a safe and orderly learning environment 

  1. Attend and participate in all required meetings, trainings, and school functions; Promote and participate in creative exchange of ideas 

  1. Comply with the safety plan 

  1. Observe confidentiality 

  1. Return all correspondence, including phone calls and emails, in a timely manner; Be accessible during business hours and respond to administrative needs and inquiries  

  1. Communicate regularly with supervisors and colleagues 

  1. Assist with maintaining a positive and effective work environment 

  1. Treat all staff with respect, provide opportunities for participation in decision making, and be responsive to the needs of staff members 

  1. Support community interaction including, but not limited to, field trips 

 

Public Relations 

  1. Coordinate and publicize social events for students and families 

  1. Communicate with parents via email or designated communications system 

  1. Maintain up-to-date webpage regarding learning center on school website and related social media sites 

  1. Greet visitors and field parent calls/concerns regarding instruction and programs  

  1. Develop a positive relationship with parents and the general public associated with the organization 

  1. Promote program and school 

  1. Communicate and support the school’s mission, policies, and procedures 

  1. Represent Element Education and its programs in a positive and professional manner 

  1. Assist with maintaining a positive and effective work environment; Treat all staff with respect, provide opportunities for participation in decision making, and be responsive to the human needs of staff members 

 

Professional and Organizational Development 

  1. Seek innovative approaches to self-directed learning and formal training 

  1. Practice reflective observation regularly; Maintain a growth mindset 

  1. In collaboration with the School Director, plan for own career growth and ongoing professional development

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities 

  1. Previous office experience preferred 

  1. Previous experience working with students preferred 

  1. Familiarity and commitment to the mission and educational philosophy of Element Education

Salary: $14.39 - $22.33 per hour
