Job Summary
Job Summary
The Student Wellness Specialist provides mental health and wellness supports to students of all ages, primarily co-located at K-12 and/or Adult education sites throughout Solano County. The SWS provides a range of mental health services to include: • Behavioral Health Screenings • Clinical Assessments • Development of Client Service Plans • Individual and Group Counseling • Collateral contact with family • Case Management • Crisis Intervention and Risk Assessment • Safety Planning Additionally, the SWS supports prevention and early intervention activities to include: • Participation in provision of Universal Screening at school sites • Social Emotional Learning workshops (whole classroom and/or small group) • Psychoeducational Workshops • Leading Suicide Prevention and Stigma Reduction Trainings for students/educators/parents and guardians/whole community
Requirements / Qualifications
Possession of one or more of the following: Master of Social Work, or Master of Science in Counseling: Marriage, Family and Child Counseling, or School Counseling, or Master of Arts in Psychology. Must have a valid Associate’s Registration or be licensed with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or Board of Psychology. Six years of related experience in social work, probation work, counseling and case/behavioral management, individual and group support services, and group dynamics, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Pre-Employment Requirements: - Fingerprinting - TB Clearance - Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or weekly testing
