BASIC FUNCTION Under the direction of the Workability I Coordinator, to provide a variety of career and vocational opportunities for secondary-age special education students, Serve as a liaison between students, personnel, employers and outside agencies regarding employment services, opportunities and placement. Match students to appropriate training sites and work environments; network and recruit potential employers; collaborate with transition specialists and others as assigned; assist students with pre-employment skills; provide support and role modeling to students in work experience jobs; provide workability and transition services to students; assist students in developing appropriate job skills, social skills, and independence; prepare and maintain a variety of data and data input as outlined in the Workability Grant. This position typically works from August - June.
Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: - High school diploma or equivalent with college coursework in business administration, marketing, public relations or a closely related field. A related Bachelor's degree is preferred. EXPERIENCE: - Two years of experience, paid or volunteer, working with youth in an educational setting. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: - Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency must be obtained within the first three months of employment, and maintained throughout employment in this classification. - Possession of a valid, appropriate California driver's license at time of appointment and throughout employment in this classification. - Proof of current California liability insurance at time of appointment and throughout employment. - Personal transportation for job-related travel throughout the District.
