Job Summary

Job Summary

This position manages and oversees the vocational training program in accordance with ChanceLight practices and policies, Workability I Program guidelines and Department of Labor requirements. As well as, develops new community-based partnerships/job sites as needed. The Vocational roles provide vocational training, job coaching, and career counseling per student IEP goals and Individual Career Plans. Vocational roles manage student Vocational Training Plans to ensure the highest level of success for students participating in the Work Ability programs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following: Provides vocational, career, and transition inventories, to include, but are not limited to: annual age-appropriate vocational/career inventories, work readiness evaluations and/or profiles available for each student served, starting at age 14; assist teachers and Educational Coordinators in selecting age-appropriate transition assessments for ITP development; assist classroom staff in completing vocational inventories/transition assessments. Completes vocational and career training plans based on IEP schedules, and when needed provides information/data for IEP/ITP progress reports. Assists classrooms with on-campus unpaid vocational training, work and career exploration, and pre-employment curriculum activities. Develops and schedule new on-campus training opportunities as needed. Orders and distribute necessary curriculum resources, tools, and materials related to vocational training. Contributes to the supervision of student training per WAI practices, DOL regulations, and IEP/ITP goals/plans. Provides job coaching to selected students on campus, and training to classroom staff (and others) on job methods and procedures. Requirements / Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree; preferably in education, social work, vocational rehabilitation or related field 2 years’ experience working with students with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors 1 + years’ experience working with databases and spreadsheets. Experience in vocational training, including job coaching Experience in program management and development Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks Ability to work as a member of a team Good communication skills and ability to represent our program in the community Strong organizational skills; experience with WORD and EXCEL applications Position requires transporting students –car, proof of automobile insurance, and DMV clearance required
