Practicum Supervisors conduct video-based observations of intern teachers, providing feedback and coaching to support and evaluate the intern’s performance during the nine months (minimum) of the internship year in accordance with the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP’s) and Teaching Performance Expectations (TPE’s) as assigned by the Director.
Requirements / Qualifications
PRACTICUM SUPERVISOR EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Master’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university Possession of a California Clear Education Specialist Teaching Credential (mild/moderate, moderate/severe or equivalent) Minimum of 5 years teaching experience with positive evaluations and/or recommendations Knowledge of new teacher development Knowledge of the state-adopted academic content standards and performance levels for students, state-adopted curriculum frameworks, and the Teacher Performance Expectations Ability to model best teaching practices Training in Learning-focused Supervision Ability to work and supervise within the program’s digital platform and technology tools Demonstration of effective interpersonal and communication skills Other Requirements: Must be fingerprinted and a satisfactory Department of Justice records check must be received by RCOE prior to employment • TB testing will be required upon employment • Must pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable) • May be required to obtain first aid and CPR certificates within the first 6-12 months of employment • May be required to drive to school sites; may require a current California driver’s license and proof of insurance The Center for Teacher Innovation (CTI), a subsidiary of the Riverside County Office of Education, has a process in place to ensure that all personnel decisions are made without consideration of differences due to gender, race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, religion, veteran status, or other constitutionally or legally prohibited considerations.
