Saint Paul the Apostle School, a Developmental Kindergarten through 8th grade Catholic elementary school located near Westwood in Los Angeles, is accepting applications for a Fifth/Sixth grade Social Studies homeroom teacher for the 2024-25 school year. The ideal candidate is energetic and willing to work hard to build a dynamic learning environment in a Catholic school that focuses on a challenging academic background while developing character and building community. The Social Studies teacher’s responsibilities include teaching elements of history, geography, politics, economics, religion, and culture to pupils. You should keep abreast of current events and initiate spirited, respectful debates among students. You will also be required to prepare and grade various assignments and assessments. To be successful as a social studies teacher, you should demonstrate passion and commitment to your discipline. Outstanding candidates can multi-task, source appropriate learning material, and present their opinion to the class without making any student feel threatened for holding a different view.
