Requirements / Qualifications

Under general direction of the Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services, to diagnose the needs of gifted and learning handicapped children and children experiencing emotionally related problems; to aid in the development of an individual education plan which will enable students with diagnosed educational needs to attain maximum achievement and adjustment; to occasionally counsel students, individually and in groups, using a variety of techniques to aid in the achievement of personal, social, and emotional adjustments; to provide counsel and support pertaining to the delivery of psychological services; and to do other related functions as required. *Valid CA pupil personnel services credential authorizing service as school psychologist (preschool through 8th grades) *Two years of experience as a school psychologist, including one year of service as a school psychologist dealing with elementary age children. *Bilingual Preferred (Spanish or Korean)

  • Certificate Copy (Proof of an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited college or university in educational psychology, counseling and guidance, instructional technology, or closely related educational or mental health fields)
  • Credential Copy (Copy of valid CA credential authorizing service as a school psychologist)
  • Letter of Introduction (You may address the letter to 'Lori Smock, Director of Special Services')
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three (3) current, signed letters of recommendation)
