Job Summary

Oakland School for the Arts (OSA) is a dynamic, thriving, diverse charter school in an urban environment that serves approximately 800 students in grades 6-12. We are seeking a Dean of Culture & Community to join our team. The Dean of Culture & Community works with the Principal, Assistant Principal, Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator, Pathway Coordinator and other members of their team to build a safe and affirming school community that centers students and student learning. The Dean will also implement programs and initiatives on campus to build and positively impact a strong anti-bias anti-racist school culture through relationship building and effective restorative practices. The Dean works to develop faculty in their classroom teaching, supports classroom culture and intervenes, maintains, and executes student discipline on campus rooted in restorative justice.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university California Teacher Credential Administrative Services Credential preferred 3+ years experience working in school environment Experience effectively leading teams/adults Experience with restorative justice and responsive classroom practices
