The Adult School Counselor is responsible to the Senior Director of Adult and Community Education and provides leadership and coordination in the planning, development, promotion, operation, and evaluation of the counseling and guidance program. The Counselor will also provide counseling services to all students including personal, social, educational, and career development.

Requirements / Qualifications

The Baldwin Park Unified School District is seeking a highly qualified Adult School Counselor for the 2022-2023 School Year. The adult school counselor shall be responsible to the Director of Adult and Community Education and shall provide leadership and coordination in the planning, development, promotion, operation, and evaluation of the counseling and guidance program. The counselor shall also provide counseling services to all students including personal, social, educational, and career development. The counselor may need to supervise some evening and Saturdays. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties and responsibilities listed in this section are representative of duties assigned to this position. This list is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all of the tasks assigned to this position, and it is not expected that all of the tasks listed be necessarily assigned to all positions in the class. The duties and responsibilities of the assignment may vary.

REQUIREMENTS • A bachelor’s degree • Pupil Personnel Services Credential with specialization in school counseling • Five years of school experience including a minimum of threes years as a classroom teacher PREFERENCES • Adult Education counseling experience • Knowledge of Adult Education programs • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred APPLICATION PROCEDURE Please submit your application online by visiting www.Edjoin.org and attach the following supporting documents to your application: • Complete online application • Letter of Intent • Résumé • Copies of college transcripts • CBEST OR 41-BSR Form in lieu of CBEST.
