Job Summary

Los Encinos School, a K-6 school serving 175 students in Encino, is looking for a talented, and professional teaching assistant to work in a classroom setting. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): • Assisting with a teacher or team of teachers to carry out a developmentally appropriate curriculum in reading/language arts, math, and social studies for individuals, small groups, and an entire classroom of children. Perform supervision duties before, during, and after the regular school day, as needed. • Promote learning in the areas of academic, social-emotional, and physical development and motivates the enthusiasm of children to actively participate in the learning process. • Verbally communicate with children in a positive manner. Communicate clearly and honestly in verbal, electronic, and written form with parents, administrators, and colleagues about curriculum, children, and child development issues. • Demonstrate professionalism through reliability, punctuality, cooperation, organization, participation in meetings, and staff development opportunities, as well as personal appearance and self-care, and maintains personal integrity and a respectful attitude in professional relationships. Education and Experience: Experience working with children is required; A teaching credential or BA is preferred.
