THE POSITION: The job of Custodian is done for the purpose/s of providing custodial service for assigned areas and buildings; ensuring an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff and visitors; performing a variety of special cleaning operations; and performing minor building maintenance work. LOCATION: 313 W. Winton Ave. Hayward, CA 94544 TYPICAL DUTIES: • Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment. • Communicates using a variety of tools (e.g. email, phone, work orders, verbally, memos, two-way radios, etc.) for the purpose of coordinating activities, resolving issues and conflicts and exchanging information. • Operates a variety of machinery and tools (e.g. shampooers, scrubbers, buffers, waxers, etc.) for the purpose of facilitating the cleanliness and sanitation of the building. • Prepares site for daily operations (e.g. unlocking doors, attending to alarms, responding to site needs;, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring facilities are operational and hazard free. • Replenishes supplies and dispensers (e.g. paper towels, soap, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring adequate quantities for daily use. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Job related experience is desired. High school diploma or equivalent. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling (up to 50 pounds).
