Job Summary

Summary: Plans, manages, and participates in the activities and operations of the Food and Nutrition Services department including the leadership over catering, cafeterias, and staff, purchasing of food products and supplies, inventory control, budget, nutrition, menu management, and meal distribution. Distinguishing Career Features: The Director of Food and Nutrition Services serves as department head of a labor-intensive nutrition and foodservice function providing service to all sites in the District using a central kitchen and satellite operations at school sites. The Director requires training and experience in institutional nutrition and meal service.

Requirements / Qualifications

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent educational experience, with an academic major or concentration in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field; or a Bachelor’s degree in any academic major and at least two years of relevant School Nutrition Program (SNP) experience. Associate’s degree or equivalent educational experience, with an academic major or concentration in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field; and at least two years of relevant SNP experience. Food Safety Certification Minimum 3 Professional References
