Job Summary

The Counseling and Guidance Department has a full time School Counselor vacancy- 1.0 FTE, 10 month assignment. This position will focus on suicide prevention education K-12. This intervention counselor will triage the needs of the schools and train school site counselors in identifying and supporting students who are presenting with thoughts or feelings that may lead to suicidal ideation. This position will teach school counselors how to present materials in the classrooms to support students universally. EP 10s and EP 10 presentations will be an expectation for this position. This position will also serve as a co-advisor for the SWEAR committee.

Requirements / Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have a valid California Pupil Personnel Service: School Counseling credential. Applicant's credential must be attached to their application and registered with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing by the close of the posting. Experience with effective teaching experience highly preferred. Applicants must have a valid California driver’s license and be prepared to conduct, participate in, and travel to sites, professional development sessions, workshops, and meetings.
