Job Summary
Canyon Hills High School has one full time (1.0 FTE), 10 month position to fill. The Naval Science Instructor is assigned within the high school Navy JROTC program. The Naval Science Instructor is directed by the Senior Naval Science Instructor to properly instruct cadets and manage the JROTC unit in accordance with military regulations and district policies and procedures.
Requirements / Qualifications
Ability to obtain JROTC Credential. Qualified candidates must obtain an associates degree and must be certified by the United States Navy JROTC Headquarters and meet eligibility requirements established by the sponsor military service in accordance with public law. Must be a retired Naval Non-commissioned Officer (E6-E9) with no less than 20 years of service. Achieve a passing score on the CBEST within 1 year and PE CSET exams within 4 years. Applicants must have a valid California driver’s license and be prepared to conduct, participate in, and travel to sites, professional development sessions, workshops, and meetings.
