BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION Under the direction of an assigned administrator of Educational Services or designee, the Licensed Mental Health Provider must be registered as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. All work is performed within the limits of the licensing and professional standards. The Licensed Mental Health Provider oversees the mental health assessment process, supervises interns providing direct mental health services to students, and participates in consultations with District personnel in support of the mental health needs of students in the general education setting. The Licensed Mental Health Provider works in collaboration with private providers and public agencies to coordinate treatment services and referrals, attends student progress meetings, and performs all related work and duties otherwise assigned as required. Additionally, the Licensed Mental Health Provider will provide active supervision and direction to pre-licensed clinical counseling interns.
Requirements / Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/LICENSE: Valid California license authorizing service as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). Possession of Pupil Personnel Services Credential in: Psychology, School Counseling, or School Social Work. Must possess a Master’s degree in counseling or psychology (Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Clinical Counseling). SKILLS: Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, administrators, and the community. Strong general and emotional intelligence coupled with the abilities to work efficiently and independently, to prioritize, and to communicate clearly and succinctly in writing and in person are essential. Ability to maintain California State Board of Behavior Science Examiners authorization to serve as a Clinical supervisor.
