This Early Childhood Education Pool is for assignments for the 2025/2026 school year and for substitute positions. The San Diego Unified School District accepts applications for Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers on a continuous basis for regular full-time and part-time assignments. The Early Childhood Education Teacher Pool is for individuals who hold an ECE permit and want to teach in a Universal Transitional Kindergarten or pre-school environment. This is a continuous recruitment which will be used to establish an ongoing eligibility list for elementary and K-8 schools.
Requirements / Qualifications
Credential Requirements: Applicants need to hold one of the following valid California or out-of-state Early Childhood Education Permits. Child Development Teacher Permit Child Development Master Teacher Permit Child Development Site Supervisor Permit Child Development Program Director Permit If you have not applied for a California teaching credential, you must hold a Certificate of Clearance prior to applying for your Early Childhood Education Permits. Application Process To be eligible for consideration, interested candidates must submit the following. Your online application will be considered incomplete if you do not include all required information, including completion of the Work Experience and Education Sections of the online application, required attachments, and responses to all application questions. Online employment application Cover Letter Resume Copy of a valid ECE teaching credential Contact information for three professional references must be listed under the 'References' section of the application. References should be from a current or previous supervisor. We will contact your professional references during the application screening process. Written reference letters dated within the last year are also accepted and may be attached to your online application in the Reference section. Contact information for all previous places of employment must be listed under the 'Employment History' section of the application (Assembly Bill 2534). As of January 1, 2025, in accordance with Education Code section 44939.5 (as amended by California AB 2534) applicants for certificated positions are required by law to provide a complete list of every school district, county office of education, charter school and/or state special school with which you have previously been employed, regardless of the length of service.
