For more than a decade, University High School has been rated as one of the nation's best high schools. Located on the Fresno State campus, every student participates in a specific course pattern, including college prep classes. Students graduate UHS with a minimum of 21 credits of college work. Our course pattern is perhaps the most rigorous in the country and the school attracts a wide variety of highly motivated students from the area, including many talented students. This position is for English 9 and will begin in the 2023-24 school year. Teaching English at UHS centers around our 48 Book Program. California State Standards are embedded into the instruction and reading of the literature during freshmen year. Students are prepping for Advanced Placement (11th-12th grades) in freshmen English by building vocabulary and grammar skills, advancing writing competencies, and interpreting written passages.
